Dolphin and Wildlife Watching
Pacific Monarch is a stable comfortable platform for finding pods of Dolphins who are frequent visitors to the harbours.
Great Barrier Island
One of our favourite places to visit. Great Barrier offers an incredible range of activities, including climbing Mount Hobson, relaxing on natural hot water pools, beach walks on isolated, peaceful white sand beaches of the east coast; a silent protected harbour of Port Fitzroy; crayfish diving and fishing around the Broken Islands and Arid Island and more.
Diving North Coast and Poor Knights
Listed as one of the 5 top five locations in the world, the Poor Knights has amazing diving and snorkelling. Weather permitting we can over-night anchor and you can swim in the evening with snapper and kingfish. Dive the Rainbow Warrior or other northern wrecks.
North Cape and the Far North
We base Pacific Monarch in a northern marina from February to June each year. Some amazing locations include North Cape – fish for giant snapper, dive the clear waters, fish for lively kingfish, game fish in deep waters for marlin, or fish canyons for huge, delicious Hapuku and Bass.

Stop off at Waiheke Vineyard for lunch and wine tasking. Or enjoy a gourmet picnic on a remote beach or island.
A keen ‘boatie’ himself, our guest chef Murray MacKessack from Matapouri Kitchen can prepare a special menu to suit your guests and event. For example, a delicious buffet meal of barbeque roasted fillet of beef and salmon, or platters of nibbles.
Or enjoy exquisitely presented Japanese finger food, artfully arranged on platters by Umi, from the Viaduct Harbour.
